7 Reason why you should wait for the 2025 Chevy Traverse

Competing in a three-row SUV segment is challenging nowadays, but the Chevy Traverse has been faring well in recent years by offering one of the most spacious cabins on the market.

Its appeal is undeniable for families and soccer moms alike. The full-size SUV also offers the best value at its lower grades, making it a bargain if large SUVs and affordability can be put in the same sentence. You’ll be glad to know that Chevrolet is planning on making things even better in the future by entirely redesigning the Traverse, so stay with us to find out the seven reasons why you should wait for the 2025 models.

7- Improve Exterior and Interior Design

Inside and out, the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse enters its third generation with a completely new look and vastly improved interior, riding on the wave of recent off-road-oriented Design Trends. Chevrolet decided to treat the Traverse so that the new models looked more rugged than their predecessors and boasted a humongous gaping grill underlining their Newfound medicine demeanor. Bolder Design Elements don’t evaporate.

The new 2025 Chevy Traverse Redesign also Sports a much more imaginative profile with bulging fenders Scu, Lpted Beltline, and rocker panels. The rear end is even more distinctive, wrapping around rear quarter windows and a light bar taillight design on top of that. The 2025 Traverse boasts a broader track and one additional inch of ground clearance compared to its predecessor.

Chevy didn’t spare the resources to distance the all-new models from the traverses of old, and that’s especially noticeable on the inside speaking of which previous generation models were notorious for their low-quality materials and overall cheap wheel even on higher grades, which was the exact reason the entry-level Traverse was arguably the only version worthy of consideration since higher the hierarchy you went the more diminishing the returns were Chevrolet was well aware of that and decided to rectify the issue in these upcoming models.

Those willing to wait a bit for the 2025 Chevrolet Traverse to finally get the interior quality up to par with the rest of this SUV’s competition, alongside several noticeable upgrades over the outgoing models. For instance, all Traverse trims boast a massive 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen using the latest Google software with a Wireless smartphone charging pad and an onboard Wi-Fi connection readily available compared to previous seven and eight-inch units.

The difference is undeniably huge. By moving the electronic gear shifter to the steering column, Chevy frees up some space on the center console, a room for six USB ports, dual cup holders, and a dimension wireless charging pad. In addition, there are two more cup holders behind. The armrest is accessible by both the front and second-row passengers.

The entry-level LS and following online LT models retain enough seats for eight people. At the same time, all other trims reduce the seating figure to seven when incorporating the second road captain’s chairs. Regardless, the passenger space inside the Traverse remains one of the SUV’s most vital points, and even larger occupants won’t have any issues with it.

6- New Powertrains

The all-new Chevy Traverse follows in the footsteps of most of its contemporaries and ditches the stalwart V6 option in favor of a more fuel-efficient yet even more powerful turbo 4. instead of the venerable 3.6 Liter V6.

The 2025 Traverse adopts a new 2.5 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder derived from the similar 2.7 liters 4 Banger found in the Colorado pickup. The engine making its official debut in the Traverse is good enough for 315 ponies and 317 pound-feet of torque, which improves upon the v6’s 310 horses and underwhelming 266 pounds of torque.

The gear shifter we’ve mentioned before now operates eight gears instead of nine but still promises smooth operation despite losing one bag. As always, the all-wheel drive remains available across the range, although by default, the Traverse remains a front-wheel drive vehicle except on the all-new Z71 models, of course, but more on them later. Another thing that stays the same is the 5000 band maximum towing capacity despite an extra 50 pounds of torque. We expect that department to remain the same throughout this generation.

5- Class-leading passengers in cargo space

Chevrolet is still stingy with the new Traverse’s official specs, but they said it boasts up to 97.6 cubic feet of cargo space with both rear rows of seats folded flat. That’s one of the most cargo-friendly figures in the smaller full-size three-row SUV class and one of the two equally important aspects of the traverses family.

Friendliness. The other one, of course, is the seating versatility and flexibility, which, coupled with the abundance of space positions, makes Traverse the go-to choice for everyone needing a spacious vehicle. Both Rosa seats fold down quickly, and the second-row tilt and slide feature allows passengers to access the third row without having to remove the child safety seat on the second one.

4- Improves fuel economy

The EPA is yet to get a hold of the new Traverse, but the new turbo four will improve its fuel efficiency. It’s only a question of how much the ongoing V6 was rated at 18 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway, with the latter figure being a particular highlight for a vehicle of the Traverse’s size put into another perspective that’s 21 MPG combined or one point less when option with the all-wheel drive.

They were still respectable figures, but most traverses were built for Suburban life, and their lower City figure was less popular than the numbers you’d typically get in the open. Don’t expect miracles from the smaller yet more powerful turbo 4

However, we’d expect it to add at least another pointer 2 to the combined MPG ratings, but that’s about it. Hopefully, the bulk of the Improvement will be seen in the increased stop and City rating, which could do with an upgrade. Regardless, the Traverse will be even more family-friendly from now.

3-Advanced safety features

Aside from offering fewer amenities than its direct competitors and being stingy on higher-tier materials, the outgoing Traverse models lack some advanced Safety gear across most of the market.

Nowadays, every 2025 Traverse now gets automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, adaptive cruise control, active Lane control, and automatic high beam headlights, bolstering the lineup of standard driver’s AIDS compared to the 2023 models, blind spot monitors and a surround-view camera system are optional, and so is GM’s crown Jewel.

For the hands-free super Cruise mode, we’ll still have to wait for the official crash test scores, but we wouldn’t expect anything less than five stars from the feds and corresponding ratings from the Iihs. After all, the previous gen models were more than capable in that regard, even without the additional gear from this year on a potentially more annoying side rear seat belt.

Reminders are now included for both rear rows of seats, and so is the Buckle to Drive feature, which requires the driver and front passenger to be buckled before engaging gears.

2-all-new off-road Focus Z71

We’ve mentioned most traverses have been designed with traversing the Suburban Pavements in mind. It’s also true that off-road and adventure.

Focus has become increasingly popular recently, and Chevy plans to capitalize on it. Enter the all-new 2024 Chevy Traverse Z71, an off-road Focus trim of a predominantly pavement-oriented SUV; granted, it’ll never be a Wrangler or a Bronco, but the Z71 badge and everything that comes with it should significantly enhance the Traverse’s ability to tackle rougher Outback roads or even regular Rhode Island pavement.

So what does the Z71 provide besides different badging and an even more robust design for all? For starters, there are the visuals aside from the mentioned suspension lift in the face of ground clearance and track with upgrades; the Z71 adds all-terrain tires, a better approach angle, an aluminum skid plate, and red front tow hooks changes that are slightly more meaningful.

Underneath, the new Traverse Z71 receives a trim-specific twin-clutch all-wheel drive system. Again, it’s intended to compete with something other than the established dedicated off-roaders. Still, the addition should be enough to make it at least eligible for an unanticipated adventure or even a planned one.

Lastly, the Z71-specific terrain mode in the drive selector is further enhanced by a hill descent control system and a standard trailer package.

1- Arrival and Pricing

The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse will reach the dealers in early 2025 instead of late 2024, which is typically the case in these instances. Regardless, that’s right around the corner, and the weight pays off, judging by the scope of improvements.

Chevrolet’s implemented pricing, on the other hand, might not be so pleasantly refreshing as the new models are expected to retail for a substantially increased amount compared to outgoing units $34500 before the added destination charge of $1395 will look like an enticing Prospect compared to the new pricing which is expected to come close to $39000 for the base models.

Once all the additional charges are calculated, in other words, while Chevy is yet to reveal the official MSRPs, we’d expect at least a two thousand five hundred dollar increase compared to 2023-24 models.

The sheer extent of Improvement should be worth it; however, the 2025 Chevy Traverse is a more contemporary model in every sense of the word and improves upon the previous generation in almost every way imaginable. At the same time, it retains its Hallmark spaciousness and seeding flexibility that always resonated with the SUV’s faithful.
